socialmedia1011I have seen lots of people get there twitter accounts get hacked. There are some percautions you can take that will help prevent you getting your account hacked.

  1. Do not save your twitter username and password at any site at all.
  2. Any message that comes in that asks you to download something it is most likely harmful.
  3. Anyone that says they work for twitter asking your for a password do not work for them. They have complete access to your site already.
  4. Change your password frequent and ensure to use good mixture of characters and numbers.

For some people they value there twitter account highly. For them I suggest they apply all these rules. If your account is not very valuable then by all means don’t follow any of them.

If I test out a service I always use a test account which is the smarter way to go.

Social Media 101 – Facebook Friend Adder

Published on Jul 25, 2009   //  Social Media

socialmedia1011Like with other social media sites there are ways to automate adding of friends on Facebook as well. Software that you can use is Facebook Friend Adder will allow you to go to a Group or Event and invite all of the people to be friends.

Again like other software’s I would suggest you be careful not to spam.

Someone asked me why would I do add people I don’t know? If you have ever used Facebook advertising you will know that it is horrible. I do not recommend using it because the people won’t click and those that do won’t buy.

Guess what does convert on Facebook? People that post links and notes on there profile. These things drive traffic to pages where you can work on selling them products.

Using this software is fairly inexpensive and if your going to use it be sure that you setup a new account as the odds are you will be blocked or banned.

Social Media 101 – Hummingbird

Published on Jul 25, 2009   //  Social Media

socialmedia1011Wonder how some people get big?

Maybe they use an automated software. I have seen a few people use these softwares and the top of the line model is Hummingbird. This software simulates a user on a browser adding and removing users based on rules setup by the person running the software.

The way this works is someone will follow a mass amount of people. Then they will usually spam them using an autofollow DM with some type of affiliate link or ebook.

Then they move on and remove them after 7 days.

This software makes it very hard for twitter to know if it is a human or a machine. This software is very expensive so it is not for the fait of heart. I would only suggest you buy this if you feel a large group of followers on twitter will be valuable to your business.

There are some cheaper versions that I might post about later but they all have some problems with that Hummingbird does not have from those that use these experience with them.

Social Media 101 – Tube Toolbox

socialmedia1011Like anything a lot of the video’s that go viral on YouTube do so because of who posts them. If you post a video and you have no subscribers guess how many views your going to get?

Did you know there is software to game YouTube? There are a few but the cadilac of these software’s is called Tube Toolbox. With this software you can do lots of interesting this to grow your popularity.

You can send out friend and subscriber invites based on keyword searches. You can send out mass messages out to your friends with your video attached.

Note like anything automated that you can get in trouble as a spammer if you abuse it. The Tube Toolbox software does have failsafes built in that will stop you from overstepping the YouTube limits which is a nice feature.

This software is by no means inexpensive. If you consider having a large following on YouTube to be something of value you to you then maybe this a solution for you.

Social Media 101 – YouTube Experiment

Published on Jul 25, 2009   //  Social Media

socialmedia1011I have done several small test on YouTube to see what the results would be. Watch the following to video’s…

BlueFur Viral Video 1

and

BlueFur ThinkFitness Week 21 Video

Which one do you think cost more?

I know not everything is about cost but for the ratio of views for a free grainy video done YouTube vs an paid production showed me that people onĀ  YouTube want a grainy video over something polished.

Remember this when your creating your own video’s for YouTube.
