I was reading an article over at TechCruch about a company named BubblePLY. The article sparked me to go and investigate what it is they do.

So BubblePLY is a fun, free little tool that lets you put Bubbles (you know those thought bubbles) into any move. All you need to do is insert a link from a video say from YouTube.com and your on your way to adding your own bubbles. You can add various bubbles, comments or side notes into a video. If you don’t have a video then you could have one made by NewportBusinessMedia.

Here is our attempt with it…

iPodAs we continue to blog we are seeking out more resources for you. I thought it would be nice if there was a software that would convert your blog to a podcast so that you can kill 2 birds with one stone?

I have heard of services that will convert your podcast to a blog which is fine. So far I have only found a few places where you can convert your actual written blog into a podcast using software.

Odiogo
This software allows you to automatically convert blogs to podcasts on the fly. The software extracts your blog posts and converts them to MP3 format in seconds. The other nice thing is that the service is free. You can try the service at Odiogo.com.

BlueFur Ranking Well and SEO Book Review

It has been 11 days since we updated our domain to BlueFur.com. If you did a search for bluefur.com in Google 11 days ago you would have got a total of 4 results. Today if you do that same search today it shows 32,200 results. Another interesting thing is that we are already showing up in the top 30 for regular key words on Google. We have also moved right back to the same spot we were our main keywords in both MSN and Yahoo. I am very happy with these results which I thought would take 6 months or more.

If you have just started a site and not sure what Search Engine Optimization is then I do have a great book for you to read. I picked up this book to see what was new and any small pointers to improve our own SEO. The SEO Book may cost $79 US but I assure the 328 page book will help you improve your rankings.

Part of getting back has been thanks to our current Review Our New Name incentive.

MyBlogLog

I learned about MyBlogLog from internet marketing guru Jeremy Shoemoney. After using it for about a month I think this is a great service and would recommend this to anyone with a blog.

MyBlogLog lets you track the stats for your site. So you can see where people have come in from, where they are clicking and much more. MyBlogLog also lets you add widgets to your site to display these stats to your visitors. These widgets include Recent Readers and Top 5 Links.

Beyond the stats and widgets MyBlogLog is a community of bloggers who like to read blogs. They allow you to create a Community around your Blog that fellow bloggers can join.

WordPress 2.1 Ella Upgrade

Wordpress 2.1

With the domain change to bluefur.com we took the time to update our blog to the newest version of WordPress 2.1.

The new version of WordPress has over 500 bug fixes from the previous version and is secure against some of the recent WordPress hacks that have been happening in the blog sphere.

The upgrade itself was very easy to do. If you have installed a previous version of WordPress through Fantastico you can upgrade it through the Fantastico link in your cPanel.

If you are like me and like to do thing by hand. This is how to do the upgrade using FTP:

  1. First download the latest version here.
  2. Login to your WordPress and disable each of your plugins one by one.
  3. Unzip it to somewhere that is easy for you to remember like your Desktop.
  4. Open your FTP program and rename your wordpress blog file to [foldername]backup.
  5. Create a new folder with the previous foldername that you just renamed. So if yours was called blog and you renamed your old one blogbackup you should create a new one called blog.
  6. Upload the files from the unziped file in step 2.
  7. Copy the wp-config.php from your blogbackup folder to your blog folder.
  8. Copy the wp-content and wp-images folders from your blogbackup folder to your blog folder.
  9. Point your browser to your blog with /wp-admin/upgrade.php on the end.
  10. Your site should work now and login to your wordpress and start up your plugins one by one. If you notice any errors from the plugins I would suggest reviewing if it is compatiable here.
  11. Reset your theme if it is not showing in your presentation menu.

That should be it. Enjoy the new features of WordPress 2.1.

We have added some WordPress videos for those that would like to learn how to use WordPress more.

The Secret Review

The Secret

I was told to watch this movie by a friend who believes in Quantum Physics. This movie is done in a documentary style. The movie explains what The Secret is and how you can use it in your day to day to life to be successful.

The secret is not really a secret but another one of those things your Parents told you to do but just never listened. The secret is the power of focusing on creating with your thought what you want to happen. So if you want to create wealth, wellness or love then these are all things you can do.  According to the secret by spending time intently focusing your thoughts and visualizing what you want to achieve whatever it may be will cause it to happen.

In the movie one person uses this new found power to find parking spots. I did try this myself with mixed results. I do not believe everyone should go out and rent or buy this video  but if you do believe that success is a state of mind you will find this movie very motivating.

You can purchase the video online here.
