Discussion: Make Money Online

Weekly Discussion

I have noticed an abundance of blogs that try to niche in the topic of making money online. I believe that this topic has become over saturated at this time and that there really is no value in having any more blogs on that topic.

What do you think? Is that topic being over discussed on blogs now?

Personally I think that if you are going to start a blog on making money online then choose one aspect of it and then become an expert on that one topic. An example would be to blog just about affiliate sales online.

What other topics would work?

Where are the Woman Bloggers?

Published on Sep 13, 2007   //  Discussion

Woman BloggersI was going through my daily routine of browsing my RSS reader and a though occurred to me. Of the 400+ RSS feeds only 3% or less of them are woman. I am really wondering why that is. As I am not a woman maybe some of our woman readers here can share their thoughts on that?

This also got me to thinking if our own blog was something appealing to both men and women. I notice a lot of men comment but women that comment on this blog are fare and few between. Even on popular blogs like John Chow, ProBlogger and Shoemoney there are very few woman that comment. If you are a woman reader can you maybe share your thoughts on this? If our blog is not appealing to woman if you can provide some input as to how we could improve?

Discussion: Do I have to upgrade?

Published on Sep 8, 2007   //  Discussion

Weekly Discussion

When new software comes out like the new PHP 5, MySQL 5 and WordPress updates we warn people to upgrade, we put plans in place to upgrade servers and urge people to upgrade. These warnings are usually followed by complaints. We hear “Do you have to upgrade?” or “My script won’t work on a new version”.

What would you say to these complaints?

Personally I believe that software is like a living organism that needs to grow and change over time. Upgrading is a natural progression as bugs and security risks are found. I can only imagine hosting would be that much more difficult if new software was not released.

How does software upgrades make you feel?

Discussion: What is your Anchor?

I was recently listening to a speaker who told a story about walking along a beach where he found a cement block with a metal loop sticking out of it. He later found out this is an anchor placed near the shore so boaters can prevent from being set adrift. The speaker went on to ask about what is your anchor?

He mentioned that most things in our life will come and go and that we should all have an anchor. I think my anchor is my family. They keep me rooted in the real world and bring an endless amount of enjoyment and excitement.

What is your anchor?
