Blog Digest Script

Posted on May 22nd, 2007

Blog Digest ScriptWe have been looking for a reliable Blog Digest Script that we could send out to our customers in order to keep them up to date on what’s new in our business. We know not everyone likes or knows how to use RSS. We also know that not everyone has the time to visit the blog on a daily basis.

We tested a few scripts that claim to be Blog Digests but none of them worked how we wanted them to.  So we decided to make our own and have completed it today.  We have made it available to you to integrate into your own sites and blogs.

View our Blog Digest Script.

So this is what powered the latest newsletter, right? I don’t know exactly how it works, but that message managed to crash my Thunderbird 2.0 setup when it tried to display the message body. Maybe the message was simply too big, causing the software to look indefinitely? I see a size of 4083 KB, which is huge for any HTML page.

This is what was used to send out.

The email was only 14.7 KB.

Did you save a copy? Can you send it to me at gjones at bluefur.com.

I received a rather large email as well, it was the same links repeated over and over again. I do not know how big it was, as I didn’t see the size in gmail. When I went to view the full email, it froze firefox briefly.

I forwarded it to you, Gary.

Cheers

The contents of the Newsletter just kept repeating the entries. I’ll send you a copy right now.

The script was missing this:

$main=”";

I added it in and it works properly. You should not see such a massive email next week.

My apologies for the mix up!
