BlueFur Customer of the Week: Torch River Manufacturing

Published on Jan 2, 2011   //  BlueFur Customer of the Week

Many different types of companies and individuals choose to host their websites with BlueFur and we’re most appreciative of it. That’s why we take the time every week to highlight one of our customers and this week, we take a look at Torch River Manufacturing (TPM).

Based out of Nipawin, Saskatchewan, TPM offers all kinds of different products for the rugged outdoors. For instance, you might find that you’re having a difficult time fitting your all-terrain vehicle in the back of your pickup truck without leaving your tail gate down. This is less than ideal, so you might want to consider the ATV Risers offered by TPM. They can give you up over 9.5 cubic feet of additional storage in your box.

Torch River Manufacturing is constantly working on new products, so you’ll want to keep your eyes locked on that page to see what they have up their sleeves. You’ll also find boat docks, tow buddies, and other high quality products.

Do you use BlueFur to host your websites? Let us know and we can feature you in a future blog post. Send an email message to blogfeature@bluefur.com with your name, website URL, and a brief description of what you’d like to see highlighted.

Showcase Saturday: Melville Theme

Published on Jan 1, 2011   //  Showcase Saturday

Some people like themes with lots of social media widgets. Some people like themes with advanced design elements and animated photo albums. Some people like bold colors and interactive buttons on their blogs. For those people, the Melville Theme is likely not appropriate.

As the first WordPress theme developed and offered by Dalton Rooney and Stacey Edelstein, Melville provides a very minimalistic design. The idea is that it has been inspired by classic literature, removing all of the most modern blogging conventions with widgets and social media integration, placing a much greater focus on your actual writing.

If you take a look at the demo site, you’ll notice that there is no sidebar. There is also no navigation toward the top of the page, getting you to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page before you can look for other areas on the site. Once again, this is designed to draw the most attention possible to your writing and as little attention as possible to other “distractions.”

The “clean, beautiful design” is complemented by clean and beautiful typography as well. It really is like you are grabbing a classic book off the shelf at your local library. Find out more about Melville WordPress theme at MadeByRaygun.com, which is also where you will find the link to download the ZIP file for free.
