WordPress Wednesday: Hikari Titled Comments

Published on Mar 17, 2010   //  WordPress

One of the first things that they’ll teach you in journalism school is the importance of having a good title. It doesn’t really matter how good your article is, how much research you put into it, or how insightful it may be if no one reads the piece in the first place. The title is the hook that draws the reader in further.

The same kind of concept applies to blog writing as well, since the post title can act as a great hook to draw someone into your article. What about the comments that the readers leave behind? For people who can’t bother to read each and every comment, a quick summary can be a lot easier to digest. Titled Comments by Hikari approaches this concern.

In short, it allows readers to define a title to the comments that they leave on your blog. This way, they can make a very quick point or provide a short summary of what the rest of the comment may contain. This isn’t as necessary for shorter comments, but anything longer than a couple of sentences can benefit from having an appropriate title of some kind.

  • Cool! :D

tnx for making an article about my plugin ^-^

Yeah I like to see titles in comments when I used Drupal, and WordPress lacked that, I love this feature ^-^

I also have another plugin, with a widget that lists latest comment with their title, it complements Hikari Titled Comments.

tnx again for the post ^^
