Getting an adequate security and surveillance system for your home or office does not have to be an expensive or complicated endeavor. One part of the overall solution you may want to consider is a wireless video surveillance system, particularly with a camera that can survive outdoor conditions. One of the less expensive options that I’ve encountered is the Swann Communications wireless outdoor camera.

Currently available through Amazon.ca for under $100, the Swann Communications Wireless Outdoor Camera comes with a receiver that can connect to a standard TV. The connection, as noted, is wireless and operates over the standard 2.4GHz frequency.

The color camera tackles both video and audio, and the receiver can be up to 150 feet away. The camera can be installed virtually anywhere and it even has IR illumination for lowlight situations. If you purchase additional cameras, you can set the receiver to automatically switch between the different camera views at regular intervals. There is support for up to a total of four wireless cameras.
