
Five weeks down and only 11 weeks until Christmas. Last week we continued talking about advertising with a focus on paid methods. Once again if you still have not picked a product it is not to late to do so, a few hours of work could mean putting $500 into your pocket for the holiday season. This week we will focus on alternative marketing options and update on how sales have been.
Step 6Â Â - Getting the Word Out (cont…)
So far we have covered some of the basic and most common advertising methods. These methods have worked well for our own target markets but based on the product you have picked these methods might not work well at all. If you are tapped for ideas to getting traffic to your site you can consider the following…

| Funny Video | Â | With hand held video cameras easily available to everyone a viral funny video is just a finger push away. If you are trying to create a viral video try and keep it grainy, users can spot a paid video and will loose the viral nature of it. |
| Press Release | Â | Post a press release to the news wire and get a good trickle of traffic. With this method you never know what could happen. You could either get a small amount of traffic or a news agency could pick up your story and run with it. |
| Events | Â | If your target market attends events then either attend the event, have a booth or create the event if one does not exist. If you have the resources creating the event will be the most beneficial because it sets you up as an expert. |
| Post a Job | Â | Posting a job will drive traffic to your site who could become potential customers. By posting a job it does not mean you need to actually hire anyone but you can surely enjoy the traffic. |
| Charity | Â | Giving to a charity helps not only those in need but can help your business. Most charities understand that business are looking for ways to advertise and are happy to help by mentioning them at charity events or to their members. |

Sales Update
To accomplish our goal of $500 profit before Christmas we will need to sell 25 Vado’s. To date using just word of mouth and now both paid and free advertising I have sold 18. That means we are already 72% done. IÂ know that in the next 11 weeks there will be no problem with selling the remaining 28%.
