In The Sphere: Winding Down the Summer
Posted on August 22nd, 2008
We’re coming down to the last couple of weekends before the kids have to go back to school, so let’s get out there and enjoy the sunshine. Just be sure to heed the advice and insight of these five blog posts before you do. Happy Friday!
Spending time with loved ones is usually a positive experience, but we also spend the lion’s share of our days with our co-workers as well. For this and some other reasons, Scott Young asks if you would still work if they didn’t pay you. Many people choose their careers based on salary alone. Are you one of those people?
Unforgettable memories. More and more people are bringing their digital cameras everywhere they go, but far too many are focused on just one feature of these cameras. Derek Semmler of The Man Page bellows at these folks, telling them to just forget the megapixels. The megapixel count isn’t the only thing that determines picture quality!
Speaking of photos, John Chow has encountered a contest that looks for your most embarassing baby and toddler pictures. The contest, appropriately enough, is called Mom! What Were You Thinking?. Among the prizes offered are a Macbook Pro, iPod touch, and a laptop case. John is throwing in a Flip Mino and 20-inch monitor too.
Theme parks can be a lot of fun. Chris De La Rosa of Obzokee decided that he was going to take the day off to experience the tallest and fastest roller coaster in Canada. It may not be exactly the same thing, but Chris is able to bring you along for the ride with a video.
If roller coasters aren’t your cup of tea, then perhaps you should heed the suggestion of Tyler Ingram and take a day trip to Cat Lake in Squamish. It’s only a couple of hours away from Vancouver, but this little town enroute to Whistler has a few charming gems for you to enjoy, like people riding bikes into the water.
