We’ve said before that colour is important to branding. To maintain a consistent image in the marketplace, you not only have to have an effective logo and some facet of your business that is particularly memorable, it is also important to maintain a certain consistency when it comes to the color of your branding.
With BlueFur web hosting, for example, blue is by far the dominant colour of the brand. It is said that the colour blue can represent along of things. Some say that blue represents trust, as well as security, confidence, and intelligence. These are traits that you want to see in your web hosting company, because you want your online data to remain secure, safe, and reliable. Blue has a calming characteristic to it.
By contrast, red is an emotionally charged colour and it really gets people riled up and excited. Arguably, this colour may not be as appropriate for a web hosting company. This is because red can get associated with danger and warnings. These are not things that you want to associate with web hosting. By contrast, red can be a great colour for a matchmaking website or for an energy-filled festival. You want to get people passionate and riled up in those instances.
When designing the marketing campaign for you company, consider what the different colours could mean and could do for your business. Do you want emotion or tranquility? Cheerfulness or purity? Colour could make all the difference.

One must also look at the culture of your audience/customers/clients when designing.
Red may be charged and not appropriete for Western websites, but in Asia, it is painted over temples and used for multiple other reasons of which seem to slip my mind but I know we went over it in Media Production class… lol

My online diary has a sort of color scheme, but as for the other two, most importantly the big one “Postcards …”, they have no thought out marketing color. People hopefully remember my cult of personality style and something about being crazy in one case or my occupation in another. Bands are great when you have the niche you can live with. I’ve tried so many and found that for me it’s better to just make my voice unique and I hope that’s what people remember. Any ideas on color for me? I’ve allways liked #000080
