When building the our iPhone friendly bluefurdomains.com site we decided to test an auto suggest AJAX code that is similar to what you find on youtube and google. If your not sure what that means you can test it here by typing abb and you will see suggestions will start to be added bellow the box.

I can think of various applications for this script. One could be a suggestion of commonly searched topics on your site instead of just an empty search box.
What do you think of auto suggest?

Awesome code magic!
I typically love auto suggest. I like the way Google can tell what other people were searching for, so it makes entering my search string even quicker. Sometimes it’s accuracy actually scares me. :)

It’s something nice to have in some contexts, although it’s not that great in others as I can often type what I’m looking for faster than the speed at which the auto suggest pops up. ;)

I agree on a QWERTY keyboard I can always out type an auto suggest.
On an iPhone hmmmm not so much.
