Many people used to have pre-conceived notions of what it meant to be a geek. You might have even noticed the geeky portrayal of a computer nerd in a London Drugs commercial. As the Internet (and devices like the iPhone 3G) get more popular, it is becoming much more accepted, even admired, for being a geek. And geeks come in all forms.
With the recent purchase of a Canon Digital Rebel XSi, Tyler Ingram is becoming a bit of a photography geek. He’s still working on his technique and figuring out all the functions, but he’s loving what that DSLR can do. After the fact, however, Tyler can’t decide if he should frame his photos in PhotoShop. Does a frame add professionalism or is it just a tacky add-on?
You probably know the importance of prominently featuring your RSS feed on your blog, but Enkay Blog wants you to take that one step further. Why use a regular old RSS icon when you can express a little more personality with an upgraded RSS icon. Three-dimensions, funky hats, and lightbulbs are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.
Cartoons occupied many of our childhoods and they have come to frame many of the things that we experience in everyday life. Michael Martine develops this theory a little further by asking, “What Smurf are you on your blog?” Are you the carefree Smurfette? Maybe you’re the tool-wielding Handy Smurf?
Remember the first time you saw a blank CD-R and you were amazed that it could store 700MB of data? It’s amazing how far we have come since then and John Biehler has quickly realized that he’s carrying around a lot of memory. Between a couple of flash drives and his iPhone, he already has 26GB in his pocket. That doesn’t even count what’s in his bag.
Geeks need not be antisocial. If you’re anything like Derek Semmler, then you’ll want to network with your fellow blogging geeks at BlogWorld Expo in Las Vegas. Better still, you can win a free pass to attend the trade show. You just have to do a little public speaking, that’s all.

Interesting collection of posts. I’ve had a post in the queue about framing your pictures, as I think it is a nice touch when sharing photos on your site.
I’m not sure what kind of smurf that I would be, maybe some kind of love child from handy smurf, lazy smurf, and smurfette!

Those RSS icons are sweet. I will definitely be using those in the future.
