We are rolling out a new server this week which will have have Apache 2.2, PHP 5 and MySQL 5 running on it. This will be the first server with MySQL 5 on it and the first to run PHP 5 as the core version of PHP. The server will have PHP 4 on it for awhile but running in cgi mode.

MySQL 5 is a more secure, faster and reliable build to the current 4.x.

Wait I am a current customer and want these new features!?!

If you want to jump onto to this server (like Matt) to make use of the new features then you can open a ticket with the helpdesk on Friday (Jan 18) to be migrated over.

Our current servers running MySQL 4 will be upgraded in 2008 when we do the move from PHP 4 to 5.
