SWOT Analysis 2008
Posted on January 11th, 2008
Part of your business planning includes doing a SWOT analysis. By doing a SWOT you can identify where your doing well and where you need to improve. We believe we have great support and powerful servers so our SWOT will not read like a marketing page. Our SWOT for this year is:
Strengths
Reactive to new trends and software’s.
Strong community base.
Solution based approach to solving problems both in the long and short term.
Understanding and growing only on our core competencies.
Weaknesses
Billing is not automated enough to fit some customers needs.
Failover (Business) hosting does not work well for dynamic sites.
Unclear to customers which department does what.
Opportunities
Server solutions for SaaS services.
Managed premium services like CMS and CRM.
Domain Trademarks.
Threats
Current SaaS services that offer their services for free.
Overselling web hosts who treat customers like a commodity.
A rising number of hosts w/o a business model that includes profit.
Our next step is to work on an action plan on solving our weaknesses and threats. Then build a plan to change your opportunities into strengths.
Did we miss anything in our SWOT?
If you own a business I recommend you do a SWOT and then build a plan around it. If you need help post a comment and I’ll be happy to help you with your SWOT.
