Top 10 Must-Have Gadgets of 2007

Published on Dec 24, 2007   //  Gadgets

It’s a little hard to believe that 2007 is about to draw to a close, because it feels like just yesterday that I was trying to set up some new year’s resolutions. We’ve experienced a great year for technology, so let’s have a quick look at the top ten must-have gadgets of the year.

1. Apple iPhone: An obvious choice. With a fantastic user interface and a brilliant design, the Apple iPhone is easily the biggest success of the year. Homebrew applications and unlocking just made it that much sweeter.

2. Asus Eee PC: Perhaps the hottest item this holiday season, this budget-minded laptop is about as portable as it gets. And it looks great doing it.

3. Dell XPS m1330: The XPS line from Dell has always been known for its great build quality and the XPS m1330 notebook is no exception. The round hinge is quite the looker too.

4. BlackBerry 8830 World Edition: You don’t totally have to choose between GSM and CDMA technology, because this BlackBerry device does both. Too bad it doesn’t do North America-friendly GSM.

5. HTC TyTN II: Also known as the AT&T Tilt, the TyTN II is one of the best HTC smartphones ever produced. The spec sheet reads like a Windows Mobile wet dream.

6. Logitech diNovo Edge Bluetooth Keyboard: Who knew that keyboards could be this attractive and this slim? The diNovo Edge is one of the best feeling keyboards too, thanks to the softer keys and quick access keys.

7. Nokia 6500 Slide: This fantastic slider phone has enough consumer entertainment and enough business functionality to satisfy both markets. The stainless steel construction is seriously solid.

8. Apple iPod nano (3rd Generation): A great screen, video playback, and Apple’s signature click wheel? You simply cannot lose.

9. Logitech MX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse: This is easily the most comfortable and powerful laser mouse I have used in some time. I particularly enjoyed the free spinning wheel.

10. Dell Latitude XT Tablet PC: Although you may not be able to buy it just yet, it’s great to hear that Dell is finally breaking into the Tablet PC market.

I wonder if any of these are going to be heavily discounted on Boxing Day…
