In The Sphere: Lefties, Santa Claus, and Mountain Dew
Posted on December 21st, 2007
If you’re anything like me, your Christmas shopping is all done and you will have no problem avoiding the huge crowds over the weekend as they fight for last minute gift ideas. I guess sarcasm doesn’t translate all that well in written form, so you’ll just have to take my word for it. If you manage to find some time between shopping blitzes, be sure to check out these posts from the blogosphere.
Derek Semmler is left-handed and while he’s proud of his leftie-ness, he’s finding that there are countless reasons why it sucks to be in the minority. In the interest of brevity, he’s narrowed it down to 5 reasons it sucks to be left-handed. Ever try buying a baseball glove? Be sure to read the whole post, especially the bonus reason at the end. It’s killer.
Robin Bal of Fortune Watch has put together an interesting article that addresses the issue of finding enough time in the day. If you ever catch yourself saying that there aren’t enough hours in the day, this post might point you toward a solution.
Four (or Five!) Reasons Why is a blog that’s filled with interesting lists, but they’ve got one list this week that is particularly timely. All the boys and girls of the world have sent off their wish lists to a certain bearded man in a red suit, but have you ever considered why Santa Claus has a terrible job? Mmm… lukewarm milk.
Optempo has a three-part series on using images in your blog post. The trifecta ended this week with a post providing various tips and tricks. Check out the other two entries — techniques and sources — for the full picture, no pun intended.
Bloggrrl has discovered a new way to celebrate the holidays. You don’t have to choose between a real tree and a fake one, when you give yourself the option of building a Christmas tree out of Mountain Dew cans. Do the dew! I’d say this is a Festivus miracle in the making.
Happy holidays, everyone!

Thanks for sharing the lefty link love!
The Mountain Dew Christmas tree reminds me of a picture that was floating around along the same concept but it had used tiers of green beer bottles. Thanks for the great links.
Thanks for mentioning 4RW. We’ve been diligently working away for the past six months so being mentioned by your blog is much appreciated.
