I was recently listening to a speaker who told a story about walking along a beach where he found a cement block with a metal loop sticking out of it. He later found out this is an anchor placed near the shore so boaters can prevent from being set adrift. The speaker went on to ask about what is your anchor?
He mentioned that most things in our life will come and go and that we should all have an anchor. I think my anchor is my family. They keep me rooted in the real world and bring an endless amount of enjoyment and excitement.
What is your anchor?

You know you’re a geek when…
When I saw the title to this post, I immediately thought of anchor text. As such, I found the story of the speaker and the cement block strange until I got to the end of the post. Haha.
Anyways, I agree that my anchor is my family. Friends come and go. Careers change. Material belongings are transient. Family is forever.

Lol, I had the exact same thought as Michael. When I read the title I immediately began to think of what one anchor I would define for my site.
I’ll join the consensus and say that my family is my anchor. Everything that I do is with my family in mind and they are there for me through the good times and more importantly the bad times as well.
