We Now Take Interac Online
Posted on August 2nd, 2007
Canadians love Interac so much that they are now offering Interac services online.
This means you can purchase services and items online using your bank card. The process is really simple and you can read the full details at the Interac Online Help site.
Currently there are only 3 banks participating in Interac Online. You will need to use one of these 3 banks to make use of this new payment feature. The banks that support it are…
- RBC – Royal Bank
- Scotiabank
- TD Canada Trust
If you use another bank then can call your bank and urge them to participate in Interac online.
Can you see yourself using Interac online?

Personally, I’ll keep on using my credit card to make purchases online. If the data gets compromised in any way, I’d rather see it affecting my credit card instead of my bank account.
Does the same apply to email money transfers for yourself?
If you’re talking about money transfers between individuals, I don’t do many of those. However, when I have to, I’ll either use Paypal (account linked to my credit card), or through my bank’s online transfer system (I trust them enough to remain secure).
