In The Sphere: Business, Tech, and Games

Published on Jul 6, 2007   //  In the Sphere

It’s a beautiful Friday afternoon here in Vancouver and to help you get ready for the weekend, here are some great articles that I found posted in the blogosphere this week. As always, I have tried to put a little something from everyone here, so whether you’re a hardcore business guru or a casual video game player, there should be something nice for you below.

Mr. Gary Lee not only got his hands on a juicy Apple iPhone, but he managed to put up his first blog entry using the device. He describes his experience of acquiring Apple’s first cell phone, typing it all out using the on-screen QWERTY keyboard.

Carl Nelson was shocked by the recent Chris Benoit tragedy, just like everyone else who was a professional wrestling fan in the 90s (as well as people who are still fans today). While many people just took the news at face value, Carl went further and unearthed more shocking notes regarding the possible murder-suicide. There’s a lot of information there, so if you’re interested in the story, the post is well worth your time.

Community Spark is at it again, this time not talking specifically about blogging and online forums, but rather the importance of well-defined goals. Having objectives like “I want to be rich some day” don’t really get you anywhere. Instead, you need to be specific both in terms of scope and timeline.

Jon Lee likes video games and so do I. There are lot of fun offerings on the web for you to enjoy — in case it’s raining outside or something — and so he highlights what he believes to be the best “defend your castle” games. Fight off the invading hordes of enemies and keep your castle safe!

The ThinkReferrals Blog Network recently put up a three-part series on tech etiquette in the modern world. We all know that chatting on MSN is very different than a serious business meeting, but what about emails between business associates or chatting on your BlackBerry? He explores these issues and more. Part 1, Part 2, Part 3. Is there a Part 4 on the way?
