In The Sphere: Contest Edition
Posted on June 8th, 2007
It’s a relatively well known fact that blog traffic takes a fairly considerable drop during the summer months. Presumably, this is because more people are spending time camping, fishing, and otherwise enjoying the great outdoors, soaking in that sunshine and dipping their feet in the pool. As such, they spend less time at the computer reading up on their favorite websites and blogs. So, what are you, as a budding blogger, supposed to do? Well, if the sites listed below are any indication, it might be time to hold a contest. Because everyone likes free stuff.
Kumiko Suzuki, a pink-loving blogger who recently made the jump to Wordpress, is giving away $100 plus prizes on her blog. This is to promote her new domain. She’s providing several different ways to enter, so if you want the best chance possible, you’ll probably want to capitalize on all of these options.
Ms Danielle, host of just another ego blog site, recently won a Microsoft Zune from John Chow. Instead of enjoying the new MP3 player herself, she’s giving it away. Wanna enjoy some tunes (and vids) this summer? Want to make that road trip a little more bearable? Then enter and win a Zune from Ms. Danielle.
Nick Mercer of Oubipaws.org is holding the most evil blogger contest. If you’re not as much of the outdoorsy type and prefer spending your time plopped in front of the TV then this contest is for you, because the winner will get his/her choice of either a Nintendo Wii or an Xbox 360 Elite. Hmm… Mario Party 8 or Forza Motorsport 2? Wii Sports or Gear of War? The choice is yours.
Michael Kwan — that’s me — wants you to win a USB TV Tuner. I’m offering three different ways to enter, the easiest of which is just adding my blog to your Technorati favorites. Pair this with Nick’s contest and you can record your fragging expertise or your exceptional skills in Wii Play.
