In the Sphere: Thinking About Google’s Emails in the Restaurant Business

It’s that time of the week again where we go through the blogosphere and sift out some of the most interesting reads that have been published. We strive to provide you with a good smattering of variety so that there’s a little something for everyone. Enjoy and have a good weekend!
Normally, I would speed-link to a post like this, but the embedded image immediately caught my eye because it’s nearly identical to the one featured in the banner on my own blog. The Thinking Blog is offering up space on the site for guest “thinkers” to share their views and thoughts. This follows a recent trend in the blogosphere: the guest blogger.
Is Google too perfect? That’s the concept that is discussed at Samanathon this week. Like Saman, I think I use Google a little too much. I love Gmail, I love Google Maps, and I don’t think I could live without Google Adsense or Analytics. “It was crazy, I couldn’t believe how perfect the system really was! Then, I read a story by Jason Clark titled “Is Google Becoming A God?” and I couldn’t agree with Jason more!!”
As your business (or blog) continues to grow, you will start to get inundated with a never-ending onslaught of emails. As if all that personal spam wasn’t enough already. Thankfully, Community Spark just posted up an article that helps you avoid getting swamped with emails. This is not about avoiding spam, per se, but rather about being efficient replying to customer inquiries and the like.
John Anthony of Career Ramblings dishes out six top tips for surviving (and succeeding) in the restaurant industry. My parents have been in the restaurant business for years and I can attest to the difficulty and challenges in running a successful restaurant. Let’s just say that I’m thankful that my own business is online/virtual.
