Techvibes Sold to Rob Lewis

Techvibes LogoI just received a note telling me that Techvibes has been sold and that the new owner is Rob Lewis.

Techvibes is a site dedicated to helping bring technical people together in Vancouver to network.  The site was left unmanaged for a while and became over run by spammers.  A core group of Techvibes forum members broke off sometime ago and started Tazzu, which is still alive today and doing very well.

If you’re wondering, as I was, who this Rob Lewis guy is, here are a few details about him:

  • President of Techvibes Media Inc.
  • Co-Founder of TheCommonFan.com
  • Former Marketing Director of Webnames
  • The real question on everyone’s mindsis, what are Rob’s plans for the future of Techvibes.  In it’s heyday Techvibes had 500+ people attending monthly networking functions and 20-30 posts a day on their forum.

What do you think Rob should do with it?

I hope that Rob will consider working with Tazzu to rebuild the Vancouver tech network that is sorely missing in our community.

Update -  I reported the wrong person as buying this. Rob informed me the owners are Boris Wertz (COO of AbeBooks) and Geoff Hampson (former CEO of Peer 1) .
