Domain Auctions?

Domain AuctionsI was reading on several sites that domain auctions are currently a booming business. One auction site is making around $4 million a year in sales from auctions.

I myself have bought a few domains through auction and found the experience to be great. I used Sedo at the time and it was a pretty slick service they have.

The thought came to mind that there was no Canadian oriented auction service for auctioning domains. Would this be a service worth while or just reinventing the wheel? If we made it only available in Canadian Funds and only .ca domains would that be to niche?

  • I think that this would be a service worth while. But, limiting it to .ca domains will probably make it unsuccessful. If you make it easy to use, support a good number of domain extensions and don’t make the fees for it too high, I think it would be good. It’d be nice to have a Domain Auction where you can get/pay in Canadian Funds. :D

Would this be a separate service, or an addition to BlueFur/BlueFur Domains?

  • This would be an additional service for BlueFurDomains.com.
